trying to achieve realistic skin texture & ha

Sun Aug 2, 2009, 4:43 PM
i would like to perceive the skin textures like you have all seen with many artists art and wanna start using hair in my art. With where i want to go i need this and it is almost essential now, but i don't know where to start. If anyone might be able to give me a few pointers or point me in the direction of some resources where i can learn to achieve this look. All the time i see artists with these fantastic renders with realistic skin textures, and so I'm wondering what I'm missing. I realize some of it is Post work in photoshop, but the textures and hair have to be in the render, i just cant get the hair to work right or get the quality that i have seen. The programs im currently using are Poser and Vue. Thank You and looking forward to hearing what people have to say.

:iconamberleann:
Well I've been working, painting, playing with some new things... like the syrofoam heads, built my web page, and planning my wedding. :)
Oh and sorry about that, I used to do that alot, run away that is. Once I found out that you werent "the one" I just kept looking. I guess I could have done it in a better way. Sorry. Anyways Im just trying to live the dream... to bad its sooo much work. Oh well it will be worth it down the road. You still striving for great heights? I was looking at some of your work that I had not seen before, its good. I cant do any digital work, to technical for me. I have however learn how to use photoshop. At least the basic functions. Just enough to do what I have to. Anyways... I guess Ill stop rambling. Stay well, and feel free to check in anytime! :)

thanks for the comment and faves!
appreciated.
you are on the right way, modelling in 3d is a great help, but nothing i would depend on, postprocessing isn´t difficult if you know what you like to achieve, the technical routine comes with time:P

best,
fant

98% of deviants say that 98%... blah blah blah... and they say to copy it into your signature. If you are one of those 98%, copy this into your signature.
